Sir,
I received yours from carlisle dated the 6th instant
I pray you to revise all the preparations for the campaign before you defend the ohio. If there should be any interference inform me thereof and the articles wanting shall be forwarded
I shall order a sufficient number of of knapsacks for all the troops marched forward to be painted and straped. General Butler complained much upon this article.
I shall also send forward port wine, sugar, tea, & coffee as hospital stores.
Hasten the collection of the cavalry horses and send them to head Quarters with the cavalry equippements under safe escort
Consult
Consult Major General Butler upon the object of the preparations and as soon as possible, to Head Quarters
