Dear Sir
I had the pleasure to address you on the 5th January last by Captain Solomon Strong, which I fear never got to hand, as it has not been acknowledged. Since which, I have received your letter of the 9th March by Mr Belli - In mine of the 5th, January I desired you to purchase 10 Tickets on my account in the New York Lottery, and 3 on account of yourself, Beatty and me (provided you had no objections) and to be so kind as to transmit me the numbers, also to call on Mr Govett for the number money, all which I hope has been done. I shall attend to what you request - Viz - to order Captains Asheton, Bradford & McGurdy to forward you the returns of clothing due the men who were discharged in 1788 & 1789 and to certify the same on honor - The fellows below who pretend arrearages of clothing, are due to them are not to be credited, as they have received all the arrearages here, unless they have a certificate to shew to the contrary.
Colonel Mentges the Inspector will
will forward the Muster Roll in due form for the year 1790 and if the Officers have any accounts or charges against them, they will signify the same to you by Letter.
I am Dear Sir
with wishes for your health
being speedily restored
Yours sincerely
Jos. Harmar
Joseph Howell Jr, Esqr
N M General
