Sir [after this] No. 11
I have received your favor of the 12th instant
Major Clark is to be furnished with clothing, tents, arms, accoutrements and ammunition for the recruits of his battalion according to the recruits he shall assemble at fort Pitt the rendezvous of the battalion.
I have upon application of his Excellency Governor Mifflin this day given an order upon you in favor of Col. Clem. Biddle the Quarter Master General for 200 arms and accoutrements and a proportionate quantity of ammunition--
I shall
I shall direct Mr. Hodgdon that these and those before delivered to the militia amounting to 500 be replaced.
As Major General St. Clair had not time to arrange which part of fort Pitt should be returned, it must be referred to Major General Butler and Mr. Hodgdon the Quartermaster who will be at the place in a few days. I cannot take any other steps and am persuaded that Messrs Turnbull and Mamie [Marmie] ought to be satisfied with this arrangement. Request Mr. Scull the printer to find me regularly the garette [gazette?]
