I have been honor'd with your letter of 25th Ulto as soon as the Cloathing arrives the Contractor will immediately forward them to Mr. Bruce as you Direct--
It is true Capt Sayles has been rather indecisive with Respect to his Commanding the Company--but I trust the matter is now fixed as I wrote you 25th Ulto
on this Subject & Recommended a Deserving Character to fill that appointment--and I hope he will meet your favourable support,
The Ensign of the Company is Industrious and is now Recruiting at Newport, he has inlisted six & I hear the Lieut has about that number-- I shall with pleasure Urge their Exertions in Recruiting as well as in other matters that may have a Tendency to promote the public Interest--
is it your Intention to have the Remainder of the Millitary Stores In this state, forwarded to West Point, if so I will call on Capt. [undecipherable] to take them-- I have to Request your Determination as to the Two Brass Field Pieces in possession of the Artillery Company in this Town. I had the honor to write you on this the 5 Novr last on this Subject & I hope you will find it Consistant with the Public Interest arrangements to grant the Request I then made, that those Pieces Remain with the Company subject to your Future orders--
