Having so good an opportunity as presents by my Friend Colo Dexter who setts out in the Morning for Philadelpha, I take the Liberty again to call your attention a few moments Respecting my claim against the United States, as also that of Messrs Russells & Clark & Nightingale, which with my acct I had the Honor to Transmitt you by Mr. [undecipherable] in December last, your complyance Sir with my Request and sending the money by Return of Colo Dexter, who will give Receipt in my behalf will Render me a very particular and essential service, and as not my Finances peculiarly [undecipherable], I should not now Trouble you on this Subject, but have still waited with patience untill you were more at Leisure--
My Invalid accounts have been Ready since July last, but not having no [undecipherable] safe Conveyance I did not think proper to Transmitt them, which I now committ with the Voucher to the care of Colo Dexter. the Balance due the United States is [per?] accot stated, is Thirty six Dollars & 8 Cents which I have Requested Colo Deter to Discount Discharge out of the money he will Receive on my account from you-- [undecipherable] inspection I think ought [undecipherable] to be allowed me in addition to the 2 perct to [undecipherable] for the Trouble I had in [undecipherable] the Business--but Sir if you cannot [undecipherable] with [undecipherable] [undecipherable] their -- Colo Dexter will

which Colo Dexter will Discount the sum out of the money he will Receive of you on my account--
P.S. Since writing this Letter I hear Hugh McDougall an Invalid Died on the 23rd Inst. in this Town--
