The Secretary of War requests, that you will please to examine the within account of lieutenant John Belli, paymaster to the militia who served on the late expedition against the Maume towns, agreeably to the principles established in my letter to him dated the 27th of January last, a copy of which is enclosed, and certify the result of your examination
The Secretary of War suggests, that the muster rolls of the militia, by which their accounts have been audited, must be filed in your office, before a warrant can be granted to Mr. Belli for any payment whatever.
