Sir,
At a meeting of the Field and other Officers of the City Militia on Sunday last - I was particularly instructed by them to name to you a desire they have of waiting upon His Excellency The President of The United States on New Years Day to pay him their Respects, and at the same time, they would count it an Honor should you bear Him Company and proud to know where they shall wait on you for the Occasion. Should this meet your approbation and no Instrusion on the Time of the President, you will be pleased to signify the same to
