Genl Harmars LetterDated Novr 29. 1790
It appearing unto me upon the representation (by letter of the 20th Inst.) of Colonal Levi Todd Lieutenant of Fayette County and Colonel Robert Johnson Lieutt of Woodford County both in the District if Kentucky that it is the sense of a respectable body of Citizens in the said District that an Expedition should be Immediately should be immediately undertaken against the Savages on the Wabash and for which they are agreed. To furnish the Men I have therefore thought fit and thereby to promote the Interests of the United States to consent that the same be carried into execution For which purpose I do hereby (In the absence of his Excellency the Governor of this Territory) Authorize the several County Lieutenants of the District aforesaid to raise by draught or as Volunteers for the Occasion a body of mounted Militia not exceeding in number Twelve hundred men
(Seal) Given under my hand & seal at fort Washington in the County of Hamilton and Territory of the United State North West of the river Ohio this 29th day of Novr in the year of our Lord 1790
