My Sick Have Astonishingly Multiplied, Etc.
Description
Todd laments that his sick--both officers and privates--are astonishing multiplied to the extent that he does not expect to march with more than 200 privates. Two-thirds of the men will be expected to foot it to headquarters and horses have become so weak that they cannot convey flour.

Camp two Miles advanced of Fort Recovery Sept. 26" 1794
Sir
Last Evening the Beef Cattle arrived at Fort Recovery but not the Pack horses; in Order to hasten the Supplies of Beef Major Price moves with only a part, undecipherable of the Strongest of them
Our Sick both of Officers and privates are Astonishing by multiplied so that I dont expect to march from this place with more than 200 privates and the Horses
fairing to weak and almost continued moving for a month past without corn are in a very shattered condition, two thirds of the men will be obliged to foot if from this place to head quarters indeed the Horses have become so Weak & poor that nothing can be expected of them on the way of conveying flour. I have frequently pafsed the matter to the Officers to undecipherable what they could out of their respective commands but not a Single Horse can be found
Col. Ohara writes one from Greenville that the amount of the Packhorses will be upwards of four hundred and the Bullocks nearly that number
The way is ten miles further that I expected to find it and shall be all anxiety till I deliver my share
safe
safe
I have the honour to be with every Sentiment of Respect your Excellenecys most Obt and Humble Servant
