Dear Sir
It is with real pleasure I enclose you letter from your son Capt Savage who was in good health on the 6th of last month - Capt Peirce who arrived here this day left [undecipherable] on the 12th of the present month and who informs me that at the time he left that place, it was understood your son was well. By what means the paragraph became inserted in the paper respecting his death is yet to be explained.
