Sir,
I duly received your letter of
the 20th of last month, and solicitous to serve
you, I applied to the Commissioner of Army
Accounts, by whom your accounts have been
revised, and it appears that there is
nothing due to you.
Your applying to Congress, I do
not think would be of any service to you
- and your friends at Boston can best
advixe you upon the propriety of petitioning
the Legislature of Massachusetts.
I enclose you a copy of the Commissioner
of Army Accounts information to me on the
State of your Settlement with that Office.
