On a reference to the settlement Accounts of the late Virginia Line I find the Revd John Hurt made a Settlement with the Asst Commissr for that State for his Pay & Commutation for file the 15 June 1785--
It appears by the Master Rolls of the V. Regt of Connecticut that John McGarragh inlisted for the War on the 1 Jany 77 for the War and was discharged on the 2d May 1778. The Musters I cannot specify are silent in respect to the cause
