Sir

The Widow of Capt. James Calderwood who was killed at the Battle of Brandywine 1777, applies to this State for half pay she says he was appointed Capt. of an independent company raised in Pennsylva. and that he came to camp just before the Action and as being most convenient was there annexed to the 11th Virginia regiment but that the remains of his company were incorporated with the Pennsylva regiments, I will thank you for information of this matter.
