Sir,
Being unacquainted with the residence of Colonel Joseph Martin I have taken the liberty to enclose a letter to your Excellency for him.
Colonel Martin having been chosen by Congress, agent for the Cherokee nation of indians, agreeably to the within [undecipherable] it is of forme importance that he should receive his appointment as soon as possible, which I request your Excellency to have the goodness to forward.
