War Office. June 10th 1788 —
Sir.
I have put on board of the Sloop, Two Sisters, Silas Miller Master, who sails this day for Hartford, a Tierce containing shirts and linen overals for Captain Savage's company of artillery at Springfield. I have addressed the same to your care, and request the favor of you to forward it to Captain Savage by the first safe conveyance. I will thank you to pay the expence of transportation to Hartford which by agreement is Five Shillings, Lawful — and also, the expence of sending the tierce to Springfield, for which payments you will please to take duplicate receipts.
