My dear Sir
An expectation of seeing you in Town has prevented my writing you lately together with the information that you and Mr Ogden had made an excursion to Philadelphia
Mrs Knox was delivered about a fortnight ago of a fine boy being her eighth child - Both the infant and his mother are as well as possible - Mrs Knox [undecipherable] her affectionate respects to Mrs Ogden with an earnest request per her appearance here to which I say amen.
The new Constitution
is the domestic [undecipherable], and a pretty [undecipherable] War the European apprehension - [undecipherable] peace as I do I pray Sincerely for the new Constitution believing that it [undecipherable] the only mean to keep the ship steady in the [undecipherable] storm. [undecipherable] the broils of Europe and an open that ew may be hurt amid the clasping of arms hay have the affect to induce [undecipherable] of this country to embrace the thing [undecipherable] him secure them against [undecipherable]
Mr. Webber is remiss in his applications for remittances. I pray you to push forth on the subject and let me know [undecipherable] I shall write Mr. Webber by the next packet.
