Price transmits information regarding their enlistment. Powder casks to hold 100 pounds powder will cost at least three shillings each. Price asks if he should commission the casks.

Sir

Agreeable to your directions, Captain Burbecks ordered a Court Martial and had two prisoners, Robert Welsh and William [undecipherable last name] Tried -- which proceedings he informed me he has transmited to you. --

As the Court have sentenced them to be put under [undecipherable word] -- I have for your information Stated, the dates of their Inlistments -- and what pay each of them have received

Robert Welsh was Inlisted September 28th, 1785. And has Received Five Months pay --

William [undecipherable last name] was Inlisted May 13th, 1786. And has received four months pay --

The Above pay is what they have received exclusive of the months pay which Lieut Moor received for them a few days ago. As he has detained that in his hands until he shall received directions from you, wither it Shall be paid to them or not. --

I have made inquiries about having the two hundred pounder (who made [undecipherable word] Will Contain one hundred pounds of powder each -- And find that I cannot get them made under three Shillings New York Currency for Each to be delivered by the Last of May 1788 --

If the General will please to Inform me, wither he will have them made -- and the Terms of payment, I will make a Contract for them immediately, as the sooner it is done the Better. And I do not think they can be made Cheaper, to do them that Justice they deserve, both In Stuff and workmanship I am Sir [symbol for etc.]
