Sir

Your letter of the 8th inst did not reach me until this da. Your memorial to congress has not yet been referred to report on and as that Honble body are not in session and in all probability will not be for some months I am not able to inform you when your presence will be necessary - without an act of congress and cannot close the account of your late Father.
