Title

Instructions Regarding Government Warrants for Funds to Pay for Troops' Subsistence, Salaries, & Clothing

Description

Knox mentions that the pay office has informed him of 2 sums for pay and subsistence for which no warrants have been granted by Knox. These sums $300 and $160 respectively. Therefore asks that Wadsworth deduct the total, $460, from the overall sum of $3000 in his current account from Knox. Knox states that the money warrants already sent, for $703, $1274, and $3000 respectively, are for the subsistence and pay of officers and men, less some money for pay between May 1st and the disbandment of the troops. Says that a further warrant for troops' clothing is forthcoming Notes that the sum of $3000 has been approved for pay of the Connecticut troops; the same overall sum from which the $460 must be deducted. Knox asks that receipts for the same be sent to him.
