Your letter enclosing Colonel Darke'sstatement of his accounting for the public monies is satisfactory excepting the sums received by him of General Muchlenbergh which Mr. Stokes [ilegible] no account of or indeed settled his own account as Paymaster. I have therefore no vouchers exhibited to me which will justify me to discharge Col. Darke and hold him no longer accountable.
