The Commissioner of Army Accounts to whom was referred the Petition of Pierre Charlong begs leave to report--- That it appears from a certificate of Ethan Allen who was a Colonel in the service that the Petitioner was a prisoner two years and about two months----That it appears also from the Muster of General Hazens late regiment, that the Petitioner joined the regiment as a Volunteer about the beginning of February 1782 and continued as such until the discharge of the Army----That the petitioner hath not received (any assistance?) for these services as far as your Commissioner can ascertain, and that a certain act -?- the claims of the army dated the 2nd day of November 1785 having precluded any further demands of this nature, the petitioner is therefore debarred from the same unless a particular act of Congress is made in his favor.
