Dr Hodgdon
[undecipherable] is so long a time since I have had the pleasure of hearing from you, that I doubt whether it is necessary or proper to write you at all. In the common Revolutions which time produces in large Cities, but more especially amidst the [undecipherable] of your own Country, one may expect that you are not in statu quo, but the place where, and the situation [undecipherable], remain to be unfolded. If you are yet in the Land of the living, if you have not totally forgot our guardian friend, drop him a Line, if for no other purpose than to convince him of your Existence and friendship --- I am just about to House keep it, and am in search of furniture - inform me if you please what is the price of Mahogany, Cherry, Blackwalnut or other Neat chears in Philadelphia, and Tables of the same wood. -- what is the price of Tobo? -- Could you not purchase second hand Furniture very cheap -- I wish to purchase upon the Best terms You shall embrace that market, that is most advantageous -- Believe me to be [undecipherable] your friend
