Sir
As I understand the nature of your claim for the pay of these
Companies commanded by Mes. Habersham, it carried
from your purdues any from the Soldiers their pay,
[undecipherable]
certificate that as Lines of the State [undecipherable]
in order that he should be considered as payment for
confiscated property, that I should pass the same there
my Office. _ Mr. Wercat made an application to me
for that purpose when I was in Georgia, but on
objection as one that the receipts of the men were
[undecipherable] to [undecipherable] the payment _ As Mr. Wercat
will deliver these with the other originals [undecipherable]
into your or any other persons hands, with an [undecipherable]
from the [undecipherable] of the State to deliver the certificate
I will adjust the account and place the amount
of the same to the credit of the State in the same
manner as I have done the other advances [undecipherable]
to the line. but I cannot now [undecipherable] consider this as
the demand of an individual, for the State [undecipherable]
assumed it, the resolutions of Congress as they now
sland will not admit of an alteration.
