Sir I take this opportunity to write to you by Cap Thos Flynn to know wither you have done any thing about my oil affair as it is a long time since the public had it of me. I think that my voucher is sufficient to ascertain the delivery but if they are not here are officers that were at the Bord of Works at Springfield that knows that it was my property. And that payt was used at the Bord of Works at Speingfield the other part was sent on to the army and used there and as it is a long timeline the public had it as you may see by the vouchers I beg your assistance in getting it settled for me and doubt not but you will do everything in your power to do me justice if the money cannot be had pray get it so far settled as to (undecipherable) an order upon this state or a certificate so that I may be enabled to get it upon the public is able plese to deliver to Cap Thos Flynn either the money or certificate for my accompt who will receipt to you for the same.
as he will wait upon you with this letter and will give you a receipt or whether he shall receive from you your kindness in this will be gratefuly rcd and acknowledged.
