Sir,
[undecipherable] general Assembly at their Govt [undecipherable] in [undecipherable] to the Acquisitions of Soliders of the 20th Ulta. ordered that [undecipherable] and Twenty Men {undecipherable] for the purpos purposes there is mentioned and have appointed the Officers to Command soldiers undecipherable, first as [undecipherable] it is [undecipherable] whether this will all of them will accept their appointments or not, I might defer transmitting you a Return of their names at present.
{undecipherable] apparently did not make provision for the adjustment Expenses necessary in Recruiting the Men, and it being at present totally out of my {undecipherable] to afford that assistance which you Requested and my inclination [undecipherable] to, must therefore beg of you to forward the money for that purpose as soon as possible, which when done I flatter myself [undecipherable] wish of Congress can be complied with in due Season.
