Office of Army Accounts
New York June 23d. 1786
Sir,
A part of the Invalid Regiment were retained at
West Point after the discharge of the Army and received from me
the several sums set against their respective Names contained
in the enclosed account. An Act of Congress of the
7:th June last having now placed the whole of the Invalids
entitled to a pension from the United States on one footing
and of course reduced those who were continued after the
discharge of the Army to the same allowances as those
who went to their Homes, these Accounts are therefore
enclosed to you that you may be enabled to charge the
persons that belong to your State with such Sums as
they have received which are to be considered as part of
their Pension granted by the above mentioned resolution
and accounted for to the United States â
