I will be much obliged if you will by the returning Post, send me a Certificate that General Israel Putnam's pay has not been settled by you any further than the first of January, 1780, and that Captain John Stevens who was an Hostage in Canada has had no advance or settlement by the State for his pay and Depreciation—
