Comptroller Genls. Office
24 April 1786.

Dear Sir,

The widow of James Wilson's application to me, and her peculiar situation make me answer that part of your Letter of 1t. April inst. relative thereto before I have time to furnish this business for your Office, and for the delay of which my extreem hurry must be my apology to Mr. Pierce —

Wilson was Captain Patterson's Compy. of the old 12th. — afterwards when the 12th & 3d were incorporated he came into Cap. Christie's Compy. and continued in the 3d. Reg. until he was Shot — May 1781 —

I am &c Jno. Nicholson.

Jos. Howell Esqr
