Packet not Received

Description

The author notes that the packet he sent two weeks prior had not been received by the recipient. Apparently it was sent on to New York and, since the recipient is currently in Philadelphia, he asks that the recipient send for the packet which should then arrive promptly.

Respected Friend,

James Cottinger informs me by the post of your being in Philadelphia and by his Letter I find you have not yet received the packet I sent you upwards of two weeks ago inclosed to Captain Richard Fullerton, in which I sent every thing necessary agreeable to your directions to me by Captain Campbell — I was informed it was sent on to New York, if so I beg you will write for it by the post if you continue any time in town — as the Stage runs every day it will immediately come to your hands, with which I beg you will do the needful and lay another obligation on your already obliged friend
John Doyle

Cap Howell.
