Dr Sir
I have recieved the several papers entrusted to
the care of Mr. Green _ I now enclose you a list of Officers
who have been prisoners, belonging to this State, that you
may compare it with the accounts settled at the
Treasury and send me such as appear to correspond
with their names daily experience covinces me of
the utility of these papers, for since my last an Ac=
=count was presented, which I should have found no
difficulty in adjust had not the (ignorant) party
show'd me a certificate of Mr. Nourses which by
investigation I found to be for the full balance due
from the United States on the Identical account
presented~~
I
I wish you would send me by next post all the re=
=soves of Congress respecting the Agents - The Accounts
of Dennis Cragon a Soldier formerly in the Invalids
Corps is included in this settlement, and the sum of
seventy-one doll.s 22/90 deducted, being the amount of a
Certificate, a former letter of Yours advised me the agent
of the Invalid Corps had return'd to you_ I have therefore
to request you will enclose the certificate p.r next post,
that I may deliver it to the Agent of this line for issue.
Cragon you will note rejoined the line again ~~ I wish
you would cause the books to be once more inspected
previous to your removal to N. York, for the monies paid
Capt Rich.d Waters - by recurring to my letter of December
the 21. 1784 you will fully apprehend my wishes
on this head John White
