By the enclosed Resolution of Congress, you will
observe, that the officers of the Army who left Service in conse=
=quence of the Resolve of y- 31 of December 1781, are equally, en=
=titled to half-pay, or Commutation, as those who were derange
before that time, or continued to the close of the War~~ We
therefore request, if you are Vested with sufficient Authority,
that you will make out the Certificates for the ballance that
you may find due to us, and deliver them to Mess.rs Hewes &
Anthony, Merchants Philadelphia, who have Orders on
you for them ~~ The balance due to each of us P Statemen
of our Accounts, forwarded us by Mr. Pierce, some time ago, is
Three thousand six hundred Dollars.
