Dear Sir
Be so kind as to inform me whether Officers of the invalid Corps receives the five years full pay exclusive of the half pay allotted them for life--This Question takes its use from the cir=cumstance of several Wounded Officers of this line (who are considered on the Rolls in the same light with others & derang'd by the war Office Returns at the same period) now receiving half from the State on Continental account--This is a point on which I am in doubt & which must be Ascer=tain'd before I proceed to close the Accounts of those in that predicament--The Question in short a=mounts to this; are Invalid or wounded Officers to receive both Commutation and half pay for life? If you can Inform me on this head I wish it by the first opportunity------
