D. Sir
I find myself extremely embarrassed in settleling the Account of your late Father, agreeable to the Form and Charges exhibited by- I observe you have Charged the U.S with all his Rations Retained as well as his servants from the 1st Decr. 1776 to 20 June 1777 as Officers were allowed to draw all their Rations at that period, I must request you will make some equiry and inform me what time he joined the 5th.. Regt... of N. Jersey, as one Ration at least must have been drawn for him from the time his command commenced, on the other hand if your parent was at home during all that there is a probability of the whole being due him.
The charged of Forage from June 1. 1777 to 4 Jany. 1778 may be just as Colonel Morgan has given a Certificate to that purpose Mahale 16:50, 10 January 2014 (EST) The Charge of pay comes under the notice of the State of N. Jersey, it being for Depreciation on pay, you will please to make application to the Auditors of that State - for that Balance.
I have inclosed you the Account send me that you may Rectify any Errors which may appear.
