19 Annapolis January 14th. 1785
Dear Sir
The Period has arrived in which [undescribable} the musters of the Gorman Regiment so necessarying his Sttlemen, it leads me to bed you would be so good as to have them assorted as soon as this arrives, and sent by the Stage to the care of Capt Jos. Smith in Baltimore - friend Richmond likewise begs you to send his old pay books by the same opportunity - It's not the Interest of Deranged officers Commutation Certificates to commence 23 March 1783 Jos. Howell Junr.
