Dear Sir
Accompanying this you have a return of that part of Lieut. Col. Lees Legion as are Certified to be of the Quota of this State, and Consequently Settled with by the auditors thereof for pay & Rations up to Jany. 1782.
I cannot See the difficulty with you, that you express - you are (or can be) posses'd of all the Charges against any of the Regular Army - again you have all rates of Charges, with advances, and most undobtedly the Identical that can do this Business with as much accuracy, as any other, provided you Read before you write, and thereby not act as little Yankee White did in Sending me the Size and couler of Horses to determine the actual Service of their Riders. Please to request Mr. Betts to send me by first Post a List of Charges against Lt Chas Stockley Pay Mr Virga line as well for Specei as Old Emission to enable me in a Settlement this I omitted mentioning in Mr. Betts' Letter.
