Sir
The Superintendent of Finance has put into my hands [illegible] Notes the subsistence of the Troops [illegible] with directions to obtain the money by exchange. You will therefore very much oblige this Office here if you will [illegible]in your hand a monthly sum sufficient for that purpose which will be about fifteen hundred dollars. If you will please to favor me with an answer [illegible]. I have the honor to be your obedient servant.
