Lt Col, Pennsylvania line Revolutionary war, in the spring of 1777 was lieutenant colonel of Morgan's rifle corps, and distinguished himself on many occasions. While with Lafayette's detachment near Williamsburg, Virginia, 26 June, 1781, he attacked Col. Simcoe's rangers, gaining the advantage.
