Hodgdon has stated that the rolled iron needed for the Armory must be drawn as sheet iron but Williams believes this will cause inconvenience and waste. He wants it drawn as hose iron as usual. Doctor Buchanan is on his way to Washington to obtain a decision on the subject of his surgeoncy. He has already lost the "New York" to the surgeon of another ship so Rodgers asks Hodgdon to use his influence with the Secretary of the Navy to help Buchanan find a ship that will accept him as its surgeon.
Ornes last submission of his account and receipts was found to be in proper order, and his quoted expenditures of $255.15 were confirmed. Orne is left with a balance of $1008 which will be carried over until the next settlement.
