Stevens informs Hodgdon that he has gratefully received the draft for $3950.28 and is communicating with a friend who believes some land for a U.S. magazine can be obtained not far from Albany. The guns will be tested soon and a full report provided.
Perkins reports to Hodgdon that, with four exceptions, the company has arrived at Harpers Ferry. Several men are fixing the tools and three forges are now operable. Tools are still needed to build the locks but morale among the men seems very high.
Wadsworth encloses several receipts for seamen's pay and recruiting that should be added to his credit in his account at the War Department. He also has forwarded several vouchers the amounts for which should also be added to his credit.
Jarvis informs Stoddard that he has received bonds and expenses for the USS Constitution. He currently only has the originals of the vouchers and it may be necessary to make copies to transmit. His accounts would have already been settled if he not been called for duty on board the Constitution and been at sea for some time but they have recently been sent via post.
