Drs 500 – Exchange for 500 $ [Dollar sign with two slashes through the S) Sir After ten days sight of this my second bill of exchange, first of like tenor and date unpaid, pay Samuel Mitchell temp Agent to the Chactaws or his orders five hundred dollars, being the balance of his Account allowed him for the contingencies of the Indian Department from the 10.th September 1797 to the 10 April 1799, and having receipted to me for that sum I hold myself accountable for the same, as for advice thereof.
