Honble Secy of the Navy. Sir I presume by this Conveyanace the recruiting Officers for this Ship will forward you their Accounts for the expenditure of moneys they have reced from me for the recruiting service and presuming you might have occasion for my Acct. with the US, I take the liberty of inclosing it. You will please observe I have some time since forwarded to the Honble Secy of War duplicate rects tp the amo of 2850 Dollars if you wish the other duplicate rects. please inform me. I request you will please direct a list of prices to the Shops I recd from H. Jackson Esqr. Boston to be forwarded me as I may thereby be enabled to Charge those who take any up. I solicit the favour of you to forward me a few Copies of the Rules & regulations of our Navy. There is but one Copy on board, and that belongs to the Captain who will not suffer it to go out of his hands. I never but once have had an oppy of reading them which is the Case of most of the Officers on board. I have the Honor to be Yr Obedt Servt Jas S Deblois

Description

Deblois hopes that receipts from the recruiting officers of the ship Constitution have been received and will soon be paid. Deblois is the purser on the ship. He also requests additional copies of the Rules and Regulations of the Navy, as the only copy on board belongs to the Captain who refuses to let them out of his sight.
