Mason Know all men together presents that I Alexander Dalrymple Orr of the County of Mason &State of Kentuckey do Hereby nominate and appoint John Mason Esq.r Merch.t of George Town in the State of Maryland my sole attorney and agent for the (indecipherable) purpose of receiving from [insert, written above the line:]Samuel Dexter Esqr[end insert] the Secretary of War all such sums of money as the said secretary of war may advance order a Contract extendin to by me with the said Samuel Dexter Esq. dated the 15th of Aug.t [indecipherable] which said sums thus advanced by the secretary of war to the said John Mason Esq.r shall be good against me in the final settlement of my acc.t with the Department of War under my said Contract.
