Sir, Your letters of the 20.^th & 23^d instant, accompanied by the News Papers, are received; but the Invoices of Hamilton's loading said by yours of the 20.^th to have been enclosed has not come to hand. I presume it has been omitted on closing your letter. I shall make immediate application to Clinton for the Cloathing left in his charge by Captain Uriah Springer. In my last I requested you to make another application for the original of an account of which you sent me a Copy, since the Duplicate of that account is found. I am therefore sorry to have given you so much unnecessary trouble in that business. I am not yet able to inform you in what time the Ship Carpenters will complete the two Gallies, but have some reason to apprehend that it will not be before the first of October next. I shall transmit you a receipt for the loading in charge of Daniel Fisher immediately after its delivery. An Assortment of Files is much wanted.
