It is stated that the Barque Adriana, belonging to Philaa has lately put into New York, and remains there, waiting a mo[ney] which has been earnestly solicited from the Government of the United States.
The President, therefore, directs you to repair with the Ship of War, the Ganges under your Command, to Sandy Hook, near the Port of New York, and take under its action and conduct in Safety to the utmo[st] of your Power the said Barque Adriana, f[or] her being appointed to the Bay of Delaware, after which Service you will proceed according to your former Orders.
The Concerned in the Ad[riana] well have a Pilot Boat Stationed off the H[ook] to give immediate Notice of your Arrival.
