Sir The accountant of the War Department being absent, it has become my duty to inform you that on settlement of the account of Nicklin & Griffith, the sum of Dols 383.⁰⁰/100 has been paid them, being the amount of the purchase money of 2 Iron 9 Pound Cannon, & which appears by a letter from Cap^t Theodore Meminger Commandant at Fort Mifflin to have been received by him at the said Fort & remain there at this time.
