New York Aug^t 6^th 1794 Dear S^r I inclose I have sent you accounts of Betts and vouchers as I am informed you are appointed to audit and Settle all Public accounts belonging to the line of the State pray try to settle them for me as well as you can for my friends are suffering from them as any other Public accounts will not pay the Expence of going in Person to have them Settled There is a Copy of a Reciept of Major W^m Alexander some how or other which I suppose on mistake the Copy of Reciepts which I sent to M^r John Nicholson had Summed but what I sent I am not able to tell The Major will inform you briefly by which information you will please be Satisfied you will find on your books 600 Dollars Charged to one which I think D^r Wigstone in 1779 by an order from Gen^l Washington which you will please to Credit by the amounts now Sent and D^r William Tillman and Payments to the 10^th Penn^a Regiment as received from the Army in 1780 the Sum Delivered Exactly balanced at Present Which 2 months pay in Continental which you will please to have Settled and Deducted from my final Settlement Notes
