This has induced me to trouble you a second time. My commutation for five years as Cap.^t of Artillery amounts to three thousand Dollars at forty Dollars per month. The enclosed account will shew it. If you will be kind enough to send me the bills or for the commutation you will confer a great obligation on me. Perhaps I may have escaped your memory but I am well known in the Army. Gen.^l Knox, Gen.^l S.^t Clair Col^o Stevens all know me. I say that I shall esteem it a singular favor, if you will comply with this request, as I can lay the bills out to advantage, and I stand in need of them.
