please to receive from John Lucas Esqr the
Commutation [strikethrough: amounting] of captain John Sleeman
amounting to three thousand Dollars, which Said Sleeman
paid into the hands of Said John Lucas, & to give
duplicate receipts for the Same, and keep it at the
[strikethrough: orders of Joseph Howee Esqr commiss[ioner] of army accounts
as Mr Lucas mentioned by his letter of the
6th instant the commutation was paid to him,] you
will also be pleased to pay Capt. Sleuman his pension as is
