Michael Kalteisen commanding the Troops of the United States at Fort Johnson, having called on me a fortnight past, informing that he had rec'd notice from the War Office, that the Sum of Seven hundred and Eight Dollars, had been remitted to me for the pay of the Troops under his command for the months of November and December last — as there has arrived four Mails since and no letter either from the Treasury or yourself, It is probable some accident may have occurred to those letters, and as Capt.
