Richmond 5 Nov^r 1784 Sir I arrived at this place the 1^st Ins^t and was in hopes I should have found you here but was not so fortunate. The necessity of my being at home in as short a time as possible puts it out of my power to wait your arrival it being altogether uncertain however I have left with M^r Dunscomb five hundred Dollars which he will deliver to you. I have left all my papers here except the charges for old Omissions which I shall transmit as soon as possible to the Office in this place.
